A MAN who drove a van on a main Dreghorn road whilst cocaine was still in his system has been disqualified from driving.
Barry Drummond, 40, was found to be over the legal drug driving limit when he was using a Ford Transit van on the A71 in the village on March 9, 2022.
Drummond, of Acredyke Road in Glasgow, pleaded guilty to one charge relating to the offence when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wesnesday, September 6.
He admitted that he drove the Transit van in Dreghorn when the proportion of benzoylecgonine - the principle metabolite of cocaine - in his blood was above the legal limit.
The specified limit for the drug is 50 microgrammes per litre of blood, Drummond was found to have 76 microgrammes per litre of blood in his system that day.
After his guilty plea, the Glasgow man was handed a total fine of £245.
He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining driving licence for period of 12 months.
