A FORMER homeless hostel in Irvine has now been listed for sale.
Victoria House on Boyle Street initially closed in early 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemice due to fears of the increased spread of the virus.
Those who had been living at the hostel were quickly found flats as alternative accommodation.
Councillors at a cabinet meeting in October that year then decided that Victoria House would be premanently closed and ended the contract with Cunninghame Housing Association, which had been running the hostel.
Now, nearly three years later, the former hostel has been listed for sale on the property market with chartered surveyors DM Hall.
The property, with 27 ensuite bedrooms, has been listed with an asking price of offers over £150,000.
The property, which was built in the year 2000, is contained over two floors with a lift accessing the upper floor.
As well as containing the bedrooms, there are also various offices and meeting rooms, a residents lounge, laundry room, kitchen area with five working kitchens and ancillary accommodation within the premises.
While DM Hall add: "The property was built for used as a homeless person’s facility and may be suitable for other multiple occupation uses.
"The property has potential for residential conversion, or, commercial development, subject to the necessary consents."
