A WATER system issue has forced an Irvine primary school to close this morning, Thursday, September 14.
Pupils at Elderbank Primary School were advised to stay at home this morning when the issue came to light.
North Ayrshire Council confirmed in an announcement that the closure had been caused by an "issue with the water system".
It said that the school was aiming to overcome the issue during the day, adding that a futher update will be provided in due course.
A spokesperson said: "Parents and pupils from Elderbank Primary School are being advised that the school has had to closed this morning due to an issue with the water system.
"The school is hopeful that the matter can be resolved today and an update on the situation will be provided at 2pm."
