A 24-year-old man has died following a crash in Irvine.
The incident took place yesterday, Saturday September 23, on the B769 road near Cunninghamhead in the town.
Police say that the fatal crash occurred at around 5.30pm and involved a blue BMW 530.
Emergency services attended and a 24-year-old man, the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin is aware.
The road was closed for crash investigation work to be carried out.
And now police are appealing to the wider public to establish further the circumstances around the crash.
Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“Anyone who saw what happened or who has dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation is asked to get in touch.”
