POLICE in Ayrshire are appealing for information following a reported theft from a building site in Irvine.
Officers say that a 250m drum of street lighting cable was taken from a site on the Lochlibo Road area of the town.
They added that the incident is understood to have taken place at around 9.50pm on Monday, September 25.
A Police Scotland statement added that two men were seen around the area at the time of the theft.
They also say that the cable would have been of a "substanital weight" and would likely require a vehicle to uplift.
Now, they are appealing to any members of the public who may be able to assist in their investigations.
A force spokesperson commented: "If you were in the area at the time, witnessed suspicious activity or caught pertinent footage on a dashcam, please call 101 - reference PS-20231002-0572."
