This week, we are jumping back in time 20 years for a look at the best Irvine Times stories and photos from October 2003.
Who can you spot in these pictures?
Abbey Nursery’s own Groundforce team - Adam Croll, Courtney McCabe and Charlie Stevenson - were out and about sprucing up the school grounds in 2003.
Youngsters from Pennyburn Primary School’s pupil council visited Cunninghame House in October 2003 to meet education chief Peter McNamara and discuss their thoughts about school life.
North Ayrshire Council Provost Drew Duncan took a trip down memory lane in 2003 when he was given a tour of Castlepark Primary. He looked mighty impressed at the technology and facilities the Irvine school’s pupils and teachers worked with. Provost Duncan is pictured with P6 pupil Kelly Flint.
Margaret Carslaw opened the doors of her studio to the public in October 2003. Margaret, 65, took part in the WASPS - Workshops and Artists’ Studios Provision Scotland - open day at the Courtyard Studios. At the age of 55, Margaret chucked in her job and decided to follow her dream of being an artist. Ten years later she had her own studio and was producing her own works of art on a regular basis.
Davie Brolly netted both goals as Irvine Meadow finally got their hands on the Kerr and Smith Cup in October 2003 with a 2-0 win over Auchinleck Talbot.
The Times paid a visit to Bright Beginnings Nursery to see how the wee ones were getting on in 2003. Louis Henry, Ewan Curragh and Lennon Hutchison were having a fine time playing with toy vehicles.
