In a heart-warming display of unity and creativity, the Kilmarnock Visually Impaired Social Group recently made a significant contribution to the local community.

The group, dedicated to fostering connections and enhancing the lives of visually impaired individuals, handed a generous cheque of £150 to 'I Was Gonnae', a community initiative known for its impactful four-week music sessions.

'I Was Gonnae' has been making waves in Kilmarnock with its engaging music programs, and the visually impaired members of the social group were eager to support their cause.

Over the course of four weeks, participants had the opportunity to delve into the world of music, learning, and creating.

One of the remarkable outcomes of this collaboration was the creation of an original song, a testament to the creativity and talent within the group.

The collaborative effort between the Kilmarnock Visually Impaired Social Group and 'I Was Gonnae' showcased the power of community and the importance of inclusive initiatives.

Stuart McDonald and his team at 'I Was Gonnae' received the cheque with gratitude, recognizing the impact it would have on their future endeavours.

The cheque, totalling £150, was presented to Stuart McDonald, the driving force behind 'I Was Gonnae'.

The presentation ceremony, held at the West Netherton Bowling Club, was a moment of pride for the Social Group.

Rikki Farquharson, chairperson of the group, along with Vice-President Paul Heneachon and President Mel Hanvey, represented their members in this heartfelt gesture of support.

Stuart expressed his appreciation for the Social Group's generosity, emphasizing the importance of such collaborations in building a stronger, more connected community.

The Kilmarnock Visually Impaired Social Group meets every Monday from 1-3pm at the West Netherton Bowling Club.
