Three North Ayrshire groups have been given a boost by a major supermarket chain's charitable arm.
After receiving nominations of worthy causes from their customers, Asda Irvine has awarded £1,600 to the three organisations.
North Ayrshire Darts Academy will receive £511, Ardrossan and Largs Sea Cadets will receive £689, whilst Irvine Meadow Youth has been awarded £400.
All the grants come from the Asda Foundation.
The North Ayrshire grants formed part of £12,237 awarded to 19 community groups across the west of Scotland.
Asda Foundation grants are open to groups helping communities to address the rising cost of living, as well as groups working to improve the lives of children and young people, especially those providing support during the school holidays.
The local donations were warmly welcomed this week by West of Scotland Conservative MSP Jamie Greene.
He said: "These projects have been chosen by local people and reflect causes that really matter to local communities in West Scotland."
The MSP said he was pleased to see business reinvesting in the wider community, particularly in Youth Groups which help support the passions and interests of local young people.
He added: “I warmly welcome the grants for North Ayrshire community groups made by the Foundation.
“The grants have been awarded after listening to the suggestions of local people and communities, so I look forward to watching the positive impact of the funding on these groups and their members.
“Its important for business to work alongside and support the communities they serve, particularly in supporting young people to build their skills and interests."
