An Irvine retail worker faces charges of selling a vape to a teenager as well as giving police a false name and possessing weed.
Ahmed Taha is alleged to have attempted to pervert the course of justice and reportedly possessed a Class B substance at the Mini Market on Bank Street on May 11 this year.
It's alleged the 35-year-old stated his name was Lawa Ali, knowing this was false, in an attempt to pervert the course of justice.
Mr Taha is charged with allegedly possessing class B cannabis on the same date.
He faces a third charge of allegedly selling a vaporiser product to a boy aged under 18 on May 23.
The accused, who court papers state requires an Iraqi Kurdish translator for legal proceedings, pleaded not guilty to the accusations at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
Trial was set for the New Year, with an earlier pre-trial hearing the week before.
The Dickson Drive resident, represented by defence solicitor Greame Cunningham, will face the charges at a later date.
