A MAN spotted driving an allegedly "dangerous" vehicle by a road policing unit in Irvine has been reported for a number of traffic offences.
Officers shared shock image of the vehicle, which they pulled over on the A78 road running through the town.
The images showed a severely damaged and rusted wheel arch on the vehicle.
The car was also shown to have bald tyres which were well below the minimum tread requirement of 1.6mm.
As a result of the vehicle stop, the male driver of the vehicle was reported to the procurator fiscal in relation to alleged dangerous driving and vehicle registration offences. It was also found that the car had no tax.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Ayrshire road police topped this vehicle on A78, Irvine, due to its dangerous condition.
"The male driver will be reported to the [fiscal] for dangerous driving, vehicle registration offences and for having no tax on the vehicle."
