A NEW business is set to open in Irvine's Rivergate Shopping Centre "soon".
It comes as popular Greek restaurant Gyros - who currently operate a premises in Ayr - confirmed that they would be expanding with a new venture in the Irvine mall.
The business specialises in the famous, traditional Greek dish alongside other authentic dishes from 'the Med'.
But the business they are bringing to Irvine will not quite be identical to their current restaurant on Ayr's Newmarket Street.
Instead Gyros Irvine will be offering the tasty Greek treats in more of a takeaway format - though some tables will be in place.
The business confirmed the move to North Ayrshire earlier this week with a simple post on social media saying that the authentic Greek food takeaway would be "opening soon" at the Rivergate.
Since confirming the venture hundreds of locals have shared their excitement as they look forward to trying something a little bit different.
Commenting on the Gyros post, one local said: "That looks delicious - I've never tried Greek food so I'm excited."
While another added: "The one in Ayr is amazing - can’t wait!"
All the latest updates ahead of the opening can be found on the Gyros Irvine Facebook page.
