IRVINE police office was closed for a short period of time this morning [Monday, December 18].
Police Scotland say the decision was made while officers and other staff at the police station on Kilwinning Road dealt with "a number of incidents in the area".
The news comes after a local contacted the Times after they were unable to make a report at the station this morning.
"It's ridiculous. For us, it is quite an important issue," the member of the public explained.
Police Scotland confirmed the brief closure which took place at around 9am this morning.
No further detail was given on the incidents which were being handled at this time.
It is understood that the office has once again opened following this.
A force spokesperson said: "Due to officers and staff dealing with a number of incidents in the area, Irvine Police Office was closed for a short time around 9am on Monday, December 18, 2023."
