Colleagues, friends and family gathered to celebrate Irvine police officer Sgt Alistair Carswell's retirement.
Sgt Carswell, who most recently served as a Response Sergeant, was praised for his years of commitment to public safety after he concluded his final shift on December 30.
Writing on X (formally Twitter), North Ayrshire Police said: "Wishing a long and happy retirement to Sgt Carswell, who stood down from his very last shift today at Irvine police office.
"Sgt Carswell finished his career as a Response Sergeant - and was joined by colleagues, friends and family wishing him all the very best for the future."
