While it might have been a brand new year, the newspaper was still full of festive photos.
Who do you recognise in these pictures taken in Irvine and Kilwinning 15 years ago?
The youngsters from St Winning’s Primary were in generous spirits after raising £110 for mums and their young babies in the community. The kids saved up money during Advent before a few of them visited the Asda store in Irvine to purchase a variety of goods for newborn babies.
The primary seven pupils at Castlepark Primary took time out from their Christmas bash to pose for our photographer.
The youngsters from the infant classes at St John Ogilvie Primary were delighted with their festive headgear as they enjoyed their end-of-term Christmas party before the holidays.
An Irvine student was left astonished in early 2009 when his online bank statement declared he was almost £100billion overdrawn. Donald Moffat’s Barclays account showed two separate withdrawals of £50bn in one morning, of which the 38-year-old had no knowledge. Barclays were quick to play down the incident and blamed a “technical error” for the fault. Donald said: “I was physically sick with the stress of this, it was affecting my wife and kids – I think it’s ridiculous.”
These primary two pupils from Lawthorn Primary had a great time at their annual Christmas bash.
Youngsters at Bright Beginnings Nursery, in Irvine, had a whole load of jolly fun at their Christmas party.
