This week, we're taking a look at the top stories and pictures from the Irvine Times in January 2009.
Who can you spot in these Irvine and Kilwinning photos from 15 years ago?
These cheery chaps from the Fly Dressers Guild, in Dreghorn, were glad to get back to the serious business of fishing after the Christmas holiday.
Castlepark Primary's festive party proved popular with pupils.
A pair of Irvine rugby players originally from New Zealand collapsed after brutal arctic conditions left them suffering from hypothermia. The Irvine side's Marress ground was being buffeted by freezing wind, rain and hail during their game with Aberdeen. Full-back Lance Elrick and colleague Matt Kenny bore the brunt of the wintery weather as they were rushed to hospital. The game was abandoned with the score 0-0 with just a minute to go.
Members of the Dundonald Archive group were all smiles as they received a whopping £3,000 in 2009. Local MP Brian Donohoe passed the amount over at Dundonald Castle.
Primary seven pupils from St Winning’s had a great time living it up at their annual party at the end of 2008.
Glamour was the order of the day at the 2009 St Matthew's fashion show and a celebrity guest even popped in. Pupils worked extremely hard alongside modern languages teacher Miss Liddle to organise the event and they invited Kilwinning's Mikey Hughes, star of Big Brother, to join them.
