Police have launched an investigation after a woman fell to her death from a flat in Irvine yesterday.
The tragedy happened in the town's Warrix Avenue just before 1pm on Thursday, February 1.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said today: “Around 12.55pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024, police were called to a report of a woman having fallen from the window of a property in Warrix Avenue, Irvine.
“Emergency services attended and a 45-year-old woman was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she later died.
"Her next of kin are aware and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1500 of Thursday, 1 February, 2024.”
