The Ayr Bay Radio Yacht Club are holding an open day in Irvine next month - giving visitors the chance to try out the hobby.
The Ayrshire-wide group sail radio-controlled yachts three times a week, on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays at the Beach Park pond in Irvine.
The open day will be held on Sunday, March 3 from 11am until 2pm at the pond and will give members of the public the chance to sail the yachts.
Club members will have their own radio-controlled yachts with them and will be available to provide help and instruction.
Club secretary Bill Lees said: "We are constently asked about what we are doing and how things work, so now we would like to give people a chance to try it out for themselves.
"We would like to promote the interests and growth of radio controlled sailing yachts in the area with a view to enhancing the use of Irvine Beach Park pond for the betterment of the town and the surrounding district.
"Club members will supply all yachts and equipment and this will give a good opportunity for the public to try out a new hobby.
"There is no barrier to gender or age to take part - just a desire to sail a model yacht on the pond and enjoy a very excellent and inexpensive hobby."
