THE Irvine Clean Up Crew has launched a hunt for "passionate" new volunteers.
The group are looking for more locals to come on board to support the efforts of their existing committee.
And the physical capability to join in its regular litter picks around the town isn't essential, with the group looking for support for its behind-the-scenes work too.
They have issued the plea for support as they prepare to host a meeting on Wednesday, February 21.
The meeting, which will take place at 6.30pm in Fullarton Connexions, will provide an opportunity for those interested to learn exactly how they can offer support to the volunteer organisation.
Started with the aim of keeping Irvine Beach free of marine litter and other forms of rubbish, the volunteer group has since expanded to take in the whole town, with roadsides, parks and the banks of the River Irvine receiving its members' attention, as well as the ongoing efforts to keep the beach looking at its best.
A spokesperson commented: "Our aim is to attract individuals from the community who are passionate about the environment and their community.
"They don't necessarily have to participate in litter picking. Instead, they can contribute to our committee by offering their skills and assisting with sustainability initiatives and community activities planned for 2024."
Refreshments will be provided at the event as the Clean Up Crew team look forward to working to provide a "cleaner, healthier community".
