Irvine Burns Club welcomed the champion verse speakers from nine local primary schools to the Wellwood Centre last week.
And they crowned the 'champion of champions' in three age groups, P1-2, P3-4 and P5-7.
The pupils were accompanied by their families and teaching staff and the judges, club president Iain McPhail, Bill Cowan and the president of Irvine Lasses, Margaret McDougall, were treated to a high standard of performance by the young people.
After plenty of thought by the members of the judging panel, the following winners were announced.
In the P1-2 category: Sienna Jackson of Woodlands PS, who recited "Twa Leggit Mice".
In the P3-4 category: Abby Lawson of Lawthorn PS, who recited "To a Louse"
In the P5-7 category: Max Campbell of Glebe PS, who also recited. "To a Louse".
A club spokesperson said: "It was very difficult to decide on the winners and each of the 26 performers should be very proud of what they achieved."
