A MAN has died near Irvine Beach Park today, Monday February 26, police have confirmed.
It follows local reports that the car park near Marine Drive had been cordoned off earlier this morning.
Officers have since confirmed that they were called to the area following reports of concern for a person shortly after 8am.
When emergency crews arrived in the area a 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of concern for a person at South Beach Irvine, around 8.05am on Monday, February 26, 2024.
“Emergency services attended and a 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
