Who can you spot in these great photos from 15 years ago?
Kilwinning went bananas for Fairtrade in March 2009 with major events happening in St. Luke’s, Corsehill, and Blacklands Primaries. Kilwinning Academy pupils also joined in the fun to make it the biggest and best Fairtrade Fortnight ever. The count for Kilwinning was over 450 participants eating bananas between noon on March 6 and March 7.

These trendy youngsters from the Glebe Primary football team cut a dash on the field thanks to new strips in March 2009, courtesy of the PTA.

Fun-loving youngsters of Dreghorn primary’s P2/3 class took part in a fantastic treasure hunt in March 2009, which coincided with the school’s celebration of World Book Day.

Green-fingered youngsters at a Kilwinning’s Corsehill Primary spruced up their playing field with a new tree back in March 2009. The pupils planted the tree to celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary.

They are: P1-2 winner Kyle Scott, 2nd Emma Hunter, 3rd Aiden Fitzsimmons, highly commended Jamie-Leigh MacDougall. P3-4 girls winner Erin Gaitens, 2nd Skye Gibbons, 3rd equal Holly Aitken and Eilidh Dickson, highly commended Rebecca Moffat. Creative pupils at Towerlands Primary turned up at school dressed as characters from their favourite books in March 2009. The youngsters celebrated World Book Day and got into the spirit by donning some rather unusual outfits.
