A POPULAR restaurant chain has refused to rule out a potential move into Irvine.
South African PERi-PERi specialists Nando's say they do not currently have plans to come to town - though did not rule out consideration for future ventures.
The chain would undoubtedly be a welcome addition to Ayrshire, with no Nando's restaurants currently located in the located in the county despite its popularity elsewhere.
The closest location for Ayrshire fans of the restaurant is currently in Paisley.
With a prime location currently available to let in Irvine, in the form of the former Tony Macaroni's unit in the Riverway retail park, the Times decided to ask the business if it would consider the opportunity.
A spokesperson said: "We don’t currently have plans to open in Irvine, but it's great to hear there is appetite for some peri-peri there, so never say never!"
