RETAIL giants Tesco have issued an update on opening hours for their Irvine store.
Prior to the Covid-19 outbreak the store was open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and was the go-to location for late night snack trips in North Ayrshire.
However, during the pandemic, the hours of opening were adjusted to allow staff time to safely re-stock the store.
While 'big Tesco' was typically quiet throughout the night, which allowed colleagues to carry out tasks with ease, during the pandemic more customers began shopping late at night in a bid to avoid the crowds.
But despite the continued recovery from the pandemic, the company say they do not have plans for the store to return to its previous operating hours.
A spokesperson said: "The opening hours of our Irvine Riverway Extra store are 6am until midnight, and we have no current plans to change those hours."
