This talent foursome from Corsehill Primary School in Kilwinning lined up for our photographer in April 2009 with their medals from the recent schools chess championships. Winners Lydia Cole, Chloe Trott, Euan Thriepland and Samuel Cole were kings and queens of the contest.
Photographers from Townend Camera Club in Dreghorn celebrated their year’s work at their annual prizegiving ceremony in April 2009.
Woodlands Primary School helped to launch a safe and sustainable journey to school in April 2009. Primary 7 pupil Kendal McMurtie joined head teacher Tom Barclay, Fiona Cameron and other P6 and P7 youngsters to launch the council initiative.
Members of Kilwinning Eglinton Curling Club swapped their curling shoes for something more suited to dancing for their 2009 dinner dance and presentation night.
Irvine pupils were out in force to celebrate Sikh New Year in 2009. Local Sikhs attended Irvine Library to demonstrate to the intrigued youngsters just how they celebrate the event. Gary Singh was on hand to drum in the new year as fascinated pupils from St Mark’s, Lawthorn and Glebe primaries looked on.
