IT WAS all smiles at Springside Bowling Club as they got the new season off to a flying start.
The sun was shining on Kyle Avenue, even though the wind was cold, as the opening jack and bowls were thrown and members set their sights on another successful season.
Club president Tom McMillan watched on with delight as his wife Allison threw the opening bowls which marked the official beginning of the season.
He was joined by the rest of the club's committee and dozens of members who will no doubt be hoping similar conditions for the busy coming months.
