A POPULAR business in Irvine's Rivergate Shopping Centre has announced plans to expand.

Gyros only opened in the busy shopping mall at the end of last year, but the Greek restaurant and takeaway has already proved a hit with customers.

The business has announced it's been nominated for an Ayrshire Retail Business Award in the 'best restaurant' category.

And the news coincides with confirmation that its Irvine operation is to expand.

This will mean a move away from their current shopping centre location, but Gyros will be remaining in the Rivergate.

The business will only be making a short move away into a bigger unit within the mall.

An announcement on social media said: "We would like to thank everyone for your support.

"Exciting news, to serve you better and give you bigger menu, we have decided to move to a bigger unit with sitting in and take away.

"We are still going to be inside Rivergate Shopping Centre, Irvine."
