Extra police patrols will take place in Ayrshire this summer as the Safer Shores scheme returns for another year.
Safer Shores is a multi-agency partnership set up to ensure that everyone who visits the Ayrshire coast gets there safely, has a fantastic experience, and continues to come back and enjoy all that the coast has to offer.
Partners include Police Scotland Ayrshire, British Transport Police, NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Scottish Ambulance Service, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Coastwatch Scotland Irvine, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, British Red Cross, ScotRail, North Ayrshire Council, East Ayrshire Council and South Ayrshire Council.
Safer Shores supports ScotRail and the British Transport Police on the ban of alcohol consumption on trains.
There will also be extra Police Scotland and British Transport Police patrols during Safer Shores to ensure everyone can have a safe and enjoyable day out in Ayrshire.
