A special conference for carers in North Ayrshire is set to be held in Irvine next month.
It will be hosted by Carers Gateway North Ayrshire and the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership at the Riverside Lodge.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm on June 12 and will feature keynote speeches and workshops for carers.
Speaking at the conference will be North Ayrshire Provost Anthea Dickinson, Becky Duff from Carers Trust Scotland and Anna Gavienas from Social Security Scotland and they will be looking at the challenges that unpaid carers are facing now.
The conference will also hear from some of the area's unpaid carers, including young people who will shares their experience.
There are an estimated 800,000 unpaid carers in Scotland and this includes 30,000 young carers under the age of 18.
Three out of five of us will become carers at some stage in our lives, and one in 10 of us is already fulfilling some sort of caring role.
In North Ayrshire alone, there are approximately 13,000 unpaid carers and the conference will be looking at the challenges they are facing now.
The upcoming conference is particularly relevant as the Carers Allowance is set to change in August to Carers Support Payment.
As well as speakers there are some workshops covering areas such as Young Carers Covenant, self-directed support, carers stories and some more fun items such as art therapy and mindfulness.
