A TV recycling firm based in Irvine is reporting record business as Scotland supporters get set to watch Euro 2024 in style.

Restructa says it's receiving a record number of old TVs as fans upgrade to newer sets to watch the action from Germany and a busy summer of sport, with thousands of televisions arriving from across the country to be refurbished and recycled.

Restructa, part of the Optimum Eco Group, makes an environmental contribution by keeping screens out of landfill.

Jim McNulty, MD of Restructa, said: “Over the last few weeks we’ve noticed a real rise in the number of screens coming in – obviously the Scotland fans are looking forward to the tournament and making sure they have their new televisions ready.

"It’s great that the fans are getting set for the games and we’re making sure that their old televisions are safely processed and responsibly recycled.

"We have the highest possible recycling rates from every television that arrives at Restructa, with our team careful to get the most out of every screen.”

Restructa restores and repairs thousands of televisions every week, carefully removing component parts from discarded TVs, from plastic and aluminium to precious metals in the circuit boards, using specialist equipment to remove any hazardous materials and other chemicals, and even cables are recovered so copper wires and plastic coverings can be reused.

Restructa restores and recycles all kinds of TVs, monitors and screens, even transforming the glass from old-style CRT TV screens into ‘Glasglo’ – an eco-friendly and beautiful decorative aggregate for gardens, plant pots, driveways and more!
