It was a nice weather for ducks as the heavens opened for an annual fundraiser organised by an Ayrshire baby loss support charity.

The rain poured down during the Ayrshire Baby Loss Support charity's duck race and family fun day, but despite its best efforts the weather failed to stop the fun.

Families joined in the event to help raise awareness and reach more people who need support following the loss of their baby.

North Ayrshire Provost Anthea Dickson joined in the fun at Eglinton Park in Kilwinning. and even got to have a cuddle with a real life duckling as she stood alongside the charity's chairperson, Carol Greer.

The duckling was brought to the event by one of the volunteer's sisters, Susan.

Another special guest was Donald Duck himself, who led the way to the park's Laundry Bridge where the big race was launched.

The wee ones had a great time on the bouncy castles, with music, fun fair rides and more, alongside Ayrshire Baby Loss Support stalls.

A group spokesperson said: "Donations  from the day are still coming in, so we have yet to have a final total of money raised.

"However, the focus of the day was never to really fundraise. It was more to raise awareness of support on offer and to make people who are experiencing, or have experienced, a loss know that they are not alone.

"Providing families with an opportunity to smile again and getting people together, in a space where they would be welcomed, understood and supported was the most important part.

"Despite the weather there sure was plenty of smiles and enjoyment."
