A CHARITY football tournament is set to take place in Kilwinning tomorrow, Saturday June 22.

The third annual Taylor Watterson Memorial Cup will be held at Kilwinning Academy from 12-4pm in a bid to raise funds for local mental health groups.

Entry to the event is free however donation buckets will be located around the venue as organised look to generate cash for Let's Save Lives and There is Light - who run out of the Hayocks and Whitlees centres in Stevenston and Ardrossan respectively.

The tournament itself will see 10 teams coming from across Ayrshire as well as Lanarkshire to complete in various seven-a-side matches.

As well as these games, there will be plenty on offer for those in attendance.

Allison's Snackvan will be offering food and beverages on site while there will be a stall showcasing a vast array of football memorabilia.

For younger ones, there will be a bouncy castle at the event and Isla Cassidy from Cassidy's Crafts will have a stall set up at the academy.

A spokesperson said: "Let's get a massive crowd down to support all the teams playing and raise awareness for mental health."

Following the tournament there will be a charity night held at 'Bunkers' in Stevenston.

This is a ticket only event however tickets are free of charge, those interested in attending can make further enquiries at the tournament.
