A NUMBER of parades involving Orange Lodges and associated groups are set to take place in North Ayrshire on Saturday, June 29.
Notices were previously submitted to North Ayrshire Council detailing plans for public procession in Irvine and Kilwinning in particular.
These will take place at various times and at differing locations throughout the day - with planned routes previously disclosed in these notices.
The parades take place on the same day as the annual Boyne celebration parade held by the County Grand Lodge of Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and Argyll, which this year is taking place in Gourock.
The timings and routes are detailed for each town as follows.
Kilwinning
Bishop Burnett Memorial District LOL No. 48 - parade of up to 300 people.
Route: From Druid Driveat 8am via Wood Street, Braidwood Road, Howden Avenue, Garnock View, Lauchlan Way, Church Street, Abbots Walk, Greenfoot, Kyleswell Street, Almswall Road, Nethermains Road, Pollock Crescent, Stobbs Terrace, Stobbs Crescent, Shavian Terrace, Almswall Raod, Kyleswell Street, pause for 5 minutes, Greenfoot, Abbots Walk, Church Street, Main Street, Howgate, Byres Road, Alexandra Terrace, Claremont Crescent (board buses at school). Return via Byrehill Place, Pennyburn Road, Townhead, Byres Road, Howgate, Lauchlan Way, Church Street, Main Street, Almswall Road and concluding at the Orange Hall.
Irvine (and the surrounding area)
Scotland's Own Volunteers LOL 330 - parade of up to 100 people.
Route: From Whitehope Green at 8am, then via Fencedyke Way, Middleton Road, Stanecastle Roundabout, Bank Street, High Street and concluding at Kirkgate.
Bourtreehill Defenders LOL 361 - parade of up to 65 people.
Route: From Cheviot Way at 8am via Towerlands Road, Cramond Way, Lewis Terrace (board bus to Golfields Place), Golfields Place, Annick Road, High Street and concluding at Kirkgate.
Irvine Temperance True Blue LOL 360 - parade of up to 60 people.
Route: From Livingstone Terrace at 8.20am via Caldon Road, Quarry Road, East Road, Eglinton Street, High Street and concluding at Kirkgate.
Pride of Irvine Ladies L.L.O.L. 62 - parade of up to 40 people.
Route: From Volunteer car park at 8.30am via Parterre, High Street, East Road, Eglinton Street, High Street and concluding at Kirkgate.
Irvine Newtown District LOL 56 - parade of up to 250 people.
Route: From Kirkgate at 9.15am to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph, then via High Street, Townhead, Broomlands Drive and Golffields to board buses. Return via Carrick Drive, Kilwinning Road, Fleming Terrace, Queen Road, Old Caley Road, Quarry Road, East Road, Eglinton Street, High Street and concluding back at Kirkgate.
