Members of Irvine Old Parish celebrated the 250th anniversary of the current church building at the weekend.
Remarkably, it's the third building to stand on the Irvine town centre site.
On Sunday, the congregation welcomed the Moderator, Clerk and Depute Clerk from the Presbytery of South West Scotland to the celebration.
They were joined by North Ayrshire Provost Anthea Dickson, the town's former MP Dr Philippa Whitford, representatives from the Incorporated Trades, Carters Society, Irvine Burns Club and Irvine Lasses Burns Club, and the Second Irvine Boys Brigade.
Prayers were led by the Session Clerk, Dr Whitford and the president of Irvine Lasses Burns Club.
Provost Dickson read the lesson and the hymns were announced by Deacon Convener, Captains of the Carters and BB Company and President of Irvine Burns Club.
The minister, Rev Alec Wark, addressed the children and delivered the sermon whilst the Presbytery Moderator brought greetings.
Following the service everyone was invited to enjoy tea, coffee and plenty of cakes and to view an exhibition celebrating the building's 250 years.
Dr Whitford presented the congregation with a copy of an Early Day Motion which she laid down at the House of Commons before her retirement, congratulating the church on this special event.
As well as the representatives from civic organisations, the congregation was delighted that members from other churches took the opportunity to celebrate with them.
Congratulations to the congregation on such a historic anniversary event.
