One of the biggest musical comedy hits of 2023, The Provy Wummin, is heading to Ayrshire next month.
With a sensational 70s soundtrack, the production has been described as "Still Game, with a sobering hint of Margaret Thatcher, mixed with a hilarious sprinkle of The First Wives Club.
Now on tour, The Provy Wummin's all female cast will be heading to Ayr's Gaiety Theatre, Cumnock Town Hall and the Stewarton Area Centre in August.
The promotional blurb for the Arts Enigma Production tells us: "It's 1979. Does the wean want a chopper or a pogostick, or does mammy want an outfit from What Every Woman Wants?
"All too often, it was about What Every Woman Needed ... and that was The Provident Woman, who in times of need could offer a friendly loan, with a whole lot of interest.
"Join Oor Margaret as she chaps the doors of these women and lets you into their lives as wives and mothers and their ups and downs."
Written and directed by Paul Moore, The Provy Wummin can be seen at Ayr's Gaiety Theatre on Wednesday, August 21, Cumnock Town Hall on Friday, August 23 and Stewarton Area Hall on Saturday, August 24, all at 7.30pm.
Tickets available through their respective box offices.
