ROADWORKS have now began on a major road through Irvine.
With carriageway improvement work now underway on Marress Road, closures will be in place from 8am on Monday, July 29, on the southbound section of the road.
This section is to be shut off until 6pm on August 18 when North Ayrshire Council say the work will be completed.
Throughout the duration of the project, a diversion will be signposted.
However, work will not completely conclude in the area after this end date has passed.
Further closures are to be carried out in phases, between 8am on July 29 and 6pm on August 25, around the Marress Roundabout.
The road will only be closed in one direction, though further areas will be shut off on dates during this time.
There are to be two phases during this time, with the first seeing part of the Fullarton Street closed between the Marress Roundabout and Fullarton Roundabout.
Another phase will see New Street closed between Marress Roundabout and Victoria Roundabout.
No exact dates or times have been provided by North Ayrshire Council for when these closures will be in place.
Signposted diversions will be in place when the roads are shut.
