Stewarton is set for some high-quality entertainment over the next few weeks, with a selection of shows promising something for everyone to enjoy.
The events include a talk from TV presenter Gail Porter, a performance by an international 'bubbleologist' and two top plays coming to town.
The shows form part of East Ayrshire Leisure’s new community programme of events, designed to bring high-quality entertainment directly to the heart of our communities.
As well as Stewarton, the shows will also be coming to Darvel and Cumnock.
Gail Porter’s ‘Hung Drawn and Portered’ will kick off the season on August 10 at the Stewarton Area Centre.
The BAFTA-winning presenter and comedian will share her remarkable life story in a candid and humorous performance.
Porter, renowned for her resilience through fame, homelessness, and health battles, invites audiences to join her on a journey filled with laughter and inspiration, reflecting on how kindness and love can lead to thriving despite life’s challenges. Following shortly, The Ultimate Bubble Show will take centre stage at Stewarton Area Centre on August 17.
International Bubbleologist and Guinness World Record Holder Ray will enchant audiences with his high-energy, interactive show.
Attendees will marvel at a variety of spectacular bubble creations, from volcanic bubbles to tornado bubbles, in a performance that promises both fun and wonder for all ages. Tickets are Adult £14, Child £9, Family Ticket £36 - two adults, two kids
On August 23 , the acclaimed musical comedy Provy Wummin comes to Stewarton Area Centre.
Set in 1979, the show follows Margaret Morrison as she brings a Provy cheque to local women, offering a humorous and nostalgic look at their lives.
With lively music and memorable characters, including appearances by The Avon Lady and Ann Summers, this show promises to be a hit once again after its sell-out run in autumn 2023. Tickets are £18
Rounding off the season is the much-anticipated 20th Anniversary Tour of Singin’ I’m No A Billy, He’s A Tim.
This powerful play, which explores themes of bigotry and ethnic identity, will be staged at Stewarton Area Centre on September 6.
Written by Des Dillon and directed by Stephen Cafferty, the production continues to captivate audiences with its insightful portrayal of sectarian tensions and unlikely camaraderie, featuring a stellar cast including Scott Kyle and Colin Little. Tickets are £20
