Major repair work and a clean up has taken place place on a site near Irvine Sports Club.
The work took place on the railway viaduct at Irvine Sports Club on the line between Irvine and Kilwinning at Irvine Sports Club and close to Irvine Moor during July.
The repair was carried out to a just over six-metre area under the water level at the bridge the trains go over.
Irvine Community Council had some feedback about the viaduct online and then acted in response to their concerns just after it was finished.
Chairman Chris Pless said: “We had a lot of the public talking about the mess around the viaduct after reading the online article about the repair being carried out and people asked them about cleaning up the area.
“We spoke to the company AmcoGiffen. This is in an area people where can’t get to close to the rugby ground.
“They sent two guys last week who removed two tonnes of litter. They went on the slipway from the back of the rugby club and removed a lot of tonne bags and a dozen trolleys.
“They filled the slipway with all this stuff and found bikes and trolleys. It was a good job done.”
