An Irvine-based service which supports adults and older people in their own homes has landed "very good" ratings from the Care Inspectorate.
1st Homecare Ltd, based in Sovereign House in the town, received unannounced visits from inspectors who spoke to 21 service users and 14 staff members in July and early August.
And they left the service impressed, with 1st Homecare receiving two "very good" ratings for supporting wellbeing and leadership as well as "good" ratings for the staff team and their planned care and support.
The service is registered to provide a support service to adults and older people in North and East Ayrshire, including those with complex social or health needs, in their own homes and the wider community.
On supporting wellbeing, the inspectors said: "We found significant strengths in aspects of the care provided and how these supported positive outcomes for people, therefore we evaluated this key question as very good.
"Staff knew people well and were able to use this knowledge to provide very good person centred support. We observed warm, kind and respectful relationships between staff and people supported.
"People told us "I have good carers" and that "Staff are brilliant."
On leadership, the inspectors said: "We found significant strengths in aspects of the care provided and how these supported positive outcomes for people, therefore we evaluated this key question as very good.
"The service made regular courtesy calls to people supported to seek feedback. The management team is very responsive to any feedback offered and actions feed into the service improvement plan.
"There are very low rates of accident and incidents and these are reviewed monthly by both the service manager and regional manager."
The staff team were rated "good" but inspectors said there could be an improvement to the assessment and evaluation process.
On care and support, staff told the inspectors: "Support plans are clear and easy to understand."
