MARYMASS organisers have provided an update on the festival shows amid concerns over weather conditions.
The popular shows, held at Irvine Moor, were due to start on the night of Wednesday, August 21.
However, due to the high winds and heavy rain, the popular event was cancelled.
With a poor forecast for much of the rest of this week, there were growing fears that more of the same may be to come.
But in an update provided on Thursday, August 22, organisers have moved to reassure locals that all is still well.
A spokesperson said: "Despite the awful rain last night, the sandy ground means Irvine Moor is dry ahead of the weekend! No flooding."
And with that in mind, it is expect that the shows will make their return on Thursday evening.
The popular fair is to be open from 6pm until 10pm on both Thursday and Friday. Opening hours on Saturday, August 24, are from 12noon until 8pm.
With the summer weather as unpredictable as ever, the latest updates will be provided via the Marymass Festival Facebook page.
