IRVINE Moor was once again transformed this Saturday, August 24, to be the centre of all the fun of Marymass.
It proved to be a fantastic day out for what seemed at times like the entire population of Irvine, despite the weather trying to put a dampener on the occasion earlier this week.
On Saturday, the sun was shining and thousands of locals turned out to enjoy the festivities at one of the biggest days on the town's calendar.
With Scotland's oldest horse race meeting taking place, the afternoon was a real treat for punters, with with some real excitement on the track on the highlight occasion of the big festival.
There were some thrilling - and sometimes hilarious - bouts in the wrestling ring, as well medieval knights entertaining the crowds.
Much to the joy of many, not least our reporter Andy Hamilton, the greasy pole also made its long awaited return this year.
As chaotic and enthralling as ever, the event really was a sight to behold.
Away from the entertainment, there were a plethora of stalls set up at the Moor, ranging from local charities to those offering food from around the world, jewellery, gifts or knick-knacks.
Our photographer Charlie Gilmour spent the day trying to dodge horse droppings, while capturing some of the Marymass magic.
