AN event to mark overdose awareness day will be taking place in Irvine this weekend.
On Saturday, August 31, local addiction recovery group Minds of Recovery will host all those wishing to remember loved ones lost.
The event will be taking place from 11am-1pm at the Fullarton Hub in the town.
During the day, those attending will be able to take part in a memorial walk which will be followed by a flower ceremony and lunch with refreshments.
There will also be naloxone training provided and supported by Cafe Solace volunteers and in partnership with Fullarton Hub and North Ayrshire Drug and Alcohol Partnership.
A Minds of Recovery spokesperson said: "As a lived experience recovery organisation, our hearts go out to all the families and friends who have loved and lost someone.
"Our town of Irvine has also suffered from the loss, some of whom were our friends.
"We would welcome the community to come and join us on Overdose Awareness Day where we can come together as a supportive community and remember the ones we have loved and lost."
