The Cunninghame WASPI group met with two of Ayrshire's new MPs at the weekend.

The women, who are campaigning against state pension inequality, were joined by Labour MPs Alan Gemmell and Lillian Jones at a meeting in Kilmarnock on Saturday.

The new Central Ayrshire MP Mr Gemmell and Kilmarnock and Loudon MP Ms Jones listened to personal accounts of WASPI women as members revisited how the changes to state pension age without adequate notice have affected them.

Ann Fraser and Susan Bolland, coordinators for the group, were able to update on the national campaign and the meetings being organised in September with WASPI directors.

A spokesperson for the Cunninghame WASPI group, who represent women across Ayrshire, said: "We are looking for fair and fast compensation from the new government, and will not stop until this has been achieved."
