An Irvine man banned from going near Rangers matches has appeared in court charged with being in possession of a weapon outside Celtic Park at the weekend's Old Firm clash.

Arran Watt, 22, was allegedly found with a baton near the ground after Sunday's match.

Celtic had earlier hosted Rangers in the first derby of the season which the hosts won 3-0. There was no away ticket allocation for Rangers fans at the match.

On August 19, Watt was put on a bail order in connection with a separate allegation of reset of a drum at Hampden Park before Rangers' match against St Johnstone.

A special condition of that bail order banned Watt of being within 500 metres of any Rangers match.

He had appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court in connection with that accusation.

Court papers stated that the drum had been dishonestly appropriated by assault and robbery.

Watt also faced a separate charge of conducting himself in a disorderly manner on Letherby Drive, near the stadium.

It was claimed that he formed part of a disorderly crowd, ran through a crowd there then fled away from police officers.

Allegations went on to say Watt struggled with the officers and refused to co-operate with them when lawfully required to do so and committed breach of the peace.

Watt appeared at the same court on Monday charged with being in possession of a weapon without reasonable excuse or lawful authority and with breaching the bail condition imposed last month.

He was represented again by his lawyer Declan O'Keefe.

Watt was remanded in custody and committed for further examination by Sheriff Bernard Ablett.

He will appear at court again within the next eight days.
