An amazing Irvine boy has achieved his goal of clearing 500kg of litter from the town in just.
Irvine Clean Up Crew member Nate, aged eight, hit his target at the weekend.
He set himself the challenge at the start of the year, and announced he'd reached it on Sunday - with four months of 2024 still to go.
Nate said on his Facebook page this week: "I did it! Today was a big job and I cleared over 80kg by myself. That takes me to about 520kg of litter I've tidied in 2024.
"Do you think I should go for 1000kg? Let me know below.
"Thank you and don't stop cleaning (I'm away for a nap)."
Nate, who hopes to become a marine biologist when he's a bit older, has also launched a fundraiser for Keep Scotland Beautiful Marine Conservation Society and Irvine Clean Up Crew.
And he even helped First Minister John Swinney with a beach clean when he visited Irvine earlier this year.
On his Gofundmepage, the youngster said: "I'm Nate and I care about our planet. I especially love sea animals and want to be a marine biologist when I grow up.
"To help keep my sea animal friends safe I have set myself a goal in 2024 to litter pick at least 10kg of rubbish a week and to have collected 500kg by the end of the year.
"I already do lots of litter picking with my local environmental community group Irvine Clean Up Crew who are an awesome bunch.
"They work alongside bigger charities like the Marine Conservation Society and Keep Scotland Beautiful to try and share messages about not littering and protecting our environment.
"If you want to support me I also want to try and raise some money for Irvine Clean Up Crew, the Marine Conservation Society and Keep Scotland Beautiful who are all working hard to protect the environment. Any money raised will be split equally between all three."
