Jane Whyte marked the big occasion at Woodland View, where she has been residing since a fall last year.

Jane during WWII (Image: Contributed) Born in Glasgow on September 17, 1921, Jane was married to her husband Alexander for more than 40 years and has four children, Les, David, Susan and Val, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
During World War II, she drove ammunition trucks, but for most of her working life she was a nurse.

Jane gets her 103rd birthday cake (Image: Contributed) Alex and Jane - best known as Jean - moved to Girdle Toll with her family in the 70s and she worked in Irvine Central Hospital.
Jane worked well into her 60s as a community nurse in Ayrshire. Husband Alex sadly died in 1989.

Jane at her 100th birthday party with her family (Image: Newsquest) Daughter Val Allan said: "Mum lived independently until last year when she had a fall and she now resides in Woodland View, Irvine, where the staff are amazing."
