AN IRVINE softplay was forced to temporarily close due to the mess that was made by attendees.
The Village Funhouse in Bourtreehill Supermarket had to open its doors at 10:30am instead of 9am on Wednesday morning, as a result of the mess and food left behind in the play area.
The business has multiple signs making it clear that the softplay has a no food policy, which was ignored by individuals.
Shop owner Imran Ali opened the softplay in 2018 in hopes that it would benefit families in Bourtreehill.
Previous complaints have been raised with the supermarket about children throwing food at parents and carers.
In response to the incident, the business will take action by reviewing CCTV footage and banning anyone who ignores the rules.
A spokesperson said: "Failure to control children will not be tolerated. We've had complaints about food getting thrown at other parents/carers, with parents not taking responsibility for their kids and ignoring the complaints or ignoring my team."
