A MAN remains in hospital after a savage assault in Irvine town centre.
Police confirmed a 43-year-old is still receiving treatment having been left in a serious condition following the incident on High Street at around 7pm on Tuesday.
Police have since confirmed that a 53-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were also assaulted in the same incident - with neither requiring hospital treatment.
Officers added that enquiries are still ongoing - with no updates on any arrests in connection with the incident - after horrific video footage of the attack was shared on social media.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were made aware of a man having been seriously assaulted at Irvine High Street around 6pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
"The 43-year-old remains in hospital.
“We also received a report of an assault of a 53-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman on High Street, Irvine.
"There was no requirement for treatment.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
