A MAN has been badly injured in a serious assault in Irvine town centre.
Police confirmed a 43-year-old remains in a serious condition in hospital after the incident which happened on High Street at around 7pm on Tuesday.
Officers added that enquiries are still ongoing into the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were made aware of a man having been seriously assaulted at Irvine High Street around 7pm on Tuesday, September 24.
"The 43-year-old remains in hospital in a serious condition.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
