A MAN has been arrested following reports of a road crash in Irvine on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene at High Street following the incident between a pedestrian and a bus.
A 72-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment, and a 43-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.55pm on Friday, September 27, we were called to a report of a road crash involving a pedestrian and a bus on High Street in Irvine.
"The pedestrian, a 72-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment.
"A 43-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing."
