Irvine Sub Aqua Club visited the RNLI at Troon in 2004 when chairman Frank Long presented a cheque for £200 to RNLI Cox Colin Millar, on board the ‘City of Glasgow’ vessel.

Irvine dancer Lauren Mitchell, 19, was set to feature in a new BBC documentary in 2004. Totally Dance School was charting a year in the life of the prestigious National Dance School of Scotland, with Lauren taking centre stage in episode three.
North Ayrshire Bookstart celebrated their first birthday in October 2004. They organised a series of events called Six Rhymes for Bookstart at various venues in the area including this one at Blacklands Community Centre in Kilwinning.
ASDA in Irvine’s Rivergate Centre held a Tickled Pink fund day to raise money for breast cancer care in 2004. Staff dressed in pink and three of the male workers even agreed to have an eyebrow, leg and chest wax.
Corsehill Primary School pupils certainly had their little fingers on the pulse when it came to first aid in 2004. The clever pupils scooped first place in a North Ayrshire schools competition organised by Ayrshire and Arran Health Board and the British Heart Foundation.
