PLANS have been lodged to upgrade the Holmsford Bridge Crematorium near Dreghorn.
A planning application has been submitted to North Ayrshire Council to upgrade the cremator and install a new cold room store and garage.
The crematorium, which is run by Dignity Funerals, is used by families from across Ayrshire and beyond.
According to planning documents, the proposed extension is to be constructed between the existing building and garage to house a new gas cleaning plant.
Extension materials and colours will be used to match the existing building.
The proposed single garage is to be constructed at the rear of the building, and a new air blast cooler system will be installed.
Holmsford Bridge Crematorium opened its doors in October 1997.
The full planning application can be viewed on North Ayrshire Council's planning portal with reference 24/00759/PP.
